The Santa Clara University Solar Decathlon team is an interdisciplinary coalition of future engineers, marketers, economists, computer scientists, writers, studiers of the environment, artists, skiers, sailors and bike-riders. We were raised building model planes, making forts or disassembling computers. We grew up taking walks or taking out the recycling. Simply put, we care about environmental health and the future of our society.
All told, at any point in time we are a group of approximately 30 undergraduates being assisted by a handful of graduate students and professors. We hail from many corners of the globe, including Morocco, Nepal, Spain, Turkey, and even Wisconsin; and we are united by our passion and belief in the power of innovation and social justice (and of course, late night Solar Decathlon work "parties"). By contributing our diverse academic and personal strengths to the Solar Decathlon, we join together as conscious, compassionate and competent leaders in the future of energy technology.
We are jumping in to start the ripple effect.
